Hello, I’m Joshua Hayward, and I’m thrilled to share my passion for art with you. Growing up, I was surrounded by creative influences that shaped my journey as an artist. My mom, an aspiring painter and poet, exposed me to various styles and sparked my curiosity. I enjoy drawing and painting, and my style can be described as abstract impressionism with a twist – I’m currently obsessed with mixed media and collage art!
My life has been a journey of twists and turns, from growing up on the East Coast to living in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and eventually settling in Winchester with my loving family. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats – stay-at-home parent, entrepreneur, and now, artist. Through it all, art has remained a constant source of inspiration and growth.
I believe that art is not just about creating a final product, but about the process, inspiration, and feeling that goes into it. It’s about embracing the weird, quirky, surreal, and abstract. My art is a reflection of my life – intricate, chaotic, unpredictable, and unconfined.
I’ve come to realize that the purpose of creating art transcends monetary gain or accolades. It’s about finding a piece of one’s soul. It’s a form of meditation, a journey of self-discovery, and a way to unlearn what we think we know. As the wise Yoda once said, “You must unlearn what you have learned.”
I’m excited to share my creations with you and inspire others to embrace their creative side. Sarah and I offer “creativity” workshops, where participants can explore various artistic expressions and discover the joy of creating for themselves.
